Denver authorities are searching for an SUV that rammed a police cruiser Friday morning.

Police say the collision happened about 4:15 a.m. near the intersection of 45th Avenue and Havana Street where officers were responding to reports of a suspicious vehicle.

“When they went to approach the vehicle, it took off at a high-rate of speed,” Det. Mary McIver told The Denver Post. “It rammed the police car and another car and took off.”

McIver said the suspect SUV is dark-colored and should have front-end damage.

No officers were injured in the encounter, police say.
