The Denver Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted for attempted sexual assault.

A woman was walking in the area of North Federal Boulevard and West 8th Avenue in the end of June around 8:30 p.m. when a male suspect drove up and offered her a ride, according to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers.

The woman refused, police said, but the suspect then approached the woman on foot near West 9th Avenue and North Decatur Street and attempted to sexually assault her, police said.

The suspect is described as a 24- to 29-year-old Hispanic man with dark hair and dark eyes. Police said the suspect is about five-foot-seven inches with a medium build and a thin beard with no mustache.

He was driving a newer model maroon four-door vehicle, Crime Stoppers said.

If anyone has information regarding the suspect, they are asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
