Re: “IREA floats tariff plan to tap customers “causing us to lose money”,” July 9 business news story.

What a sweet deal for an electric utility company: charging their customers for not using electricity.

Unemployment would be 0 percent and company revenues would go through the roof if other businesses were to adopt a similar business model.

Comcast could charge customers who don’t have cable, or for failing to watch “Duck Dynasty,” if itap still on. Twitter could charge members for not tweeting or re-tweeting the latest wisdom from whichever Kardashian is trending, and Facebook could charge members for not “liking” often enough. The Denver Post could charge subscribers for not reading the longer versions of the columns on the denverpost.com/opinion webpage.

The opportunities seem endless.
