Welcome to our feature highlighting the numerous Colorado tech companies that make cool stuff. These little snippets are intended for readers to explore the technology being made right here. One company at a time, of course.
Looklist
What happens if you’re a laid-back modern hipster who’s into goth and rock? Looklist, a curated fashion site based in Denver, can tell you what happens. This is what happens. Black, black, black!
Pinning can get tedious. Wouldn’t you rather just tell someone kinda what you like and let them figure you out? Leave it to , a newish algorithmic-driven experiment on the Web from a graduate of the agency. This fashion and hairstyle site is curated by humans so you won’t find any frumptacular oofs (though the company is toying with machine learning so there could be some computer moderation in the future). Tell it a few things you’re looking for — sultry or goth/rocker, sequins, hats? — and it will learn the looks you’re interested in seeing. “We approve everything before it comes out to try and prevent selfies, ad images and crappy photos,” said founder Shaz Sedighzadeh. Tags galore help with searching and refinement with the goal being to help you find what you want faster. Sedighzadeh showed his experiment to The Foundry Group, which and gave it some money. “We’ve got a year of runway to see where it takes us,” Sedighzadeh said.
