Denver police issued an arrest warrant Tuesday for Israel “Izzy” Alvarado in connection to a case in which a 41-year-old man was killed while trying to stop an attempted car theft .
Police say Alvarado, 16, will be charged as an adult in the first-degree murder case. was fatally injured in a 3:45 a.m. confrontation in front of El Mecanico in the 3100 block of West Alameda Avenue. Romo-Rodriguez was ejected from his vehicle while trying to stop Alvarado from stealing it.
According to police, Alvarado may be in the Colorado Springs area.
