Sunday-Oct. 11: The Denver Art Museum gets with the season Sunday, opening a major show built around the floral paintings of 19th century France. That means “In Bloom: Painting Flowers in the Age of Impressionism” will have lots of canvases full of pretty blossoms. It also means appearances by big names from the period, among them Édouard Manet, Edgar Degas, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne and Vincent van Gogh. DAM is planning a score of sideshows. There will be “arrangements” of flower-themed objects, special art-making activities and lectures, including chef Mary Alice Montgomery’s “Cooking with Dandelions.” 13th Avenue between Broadway and Bannock Street.
