“I and love and you,” a Boulder-based pet food brand voluntarily recalled Cow-Boom! beef gullet strips because of potential Salmonella contamination.
The brand, which is operated by NatPets LLC, issued the voluntary recall on July 10 for 1,299 cases of its Cow-Boom! chew strips for dogs after a routine sampling by a Colorado Department of Agriculture inspector showed a “presumptive positive result” of Salmonella. recalled 2-ounce bags of Cow-Boom! strips with the lot numbers C20130-1994T1 and C20130-2024T1, a best-by date of July 2016 and a UPC code of 8-18336-01134-4.
On Wednesday, “I and love and you” expanded the recall of Cow-Boom! to span 2-ounce bags with lot numbers ending in 4T1 and 5T1, best-by years of 2016 and 2017, and the UPC number of 8-18336-01134-4.
Products subject to the recall should be disposed of or returned to the place of purchase for a full refund, company officials said.
