The Denver Post won four Emmy awards from the Heartland Chapter of the National Academy of Television.

The awards were presented Saturday at the Denver Center for Performing Arts’ Seawell Grand Ballroom.

The Post won in the “human interest/program/series/special” category for a report about homeless students by Jennifer Brown with photos by Joe Amon and video by Mahala Gaylord.

The Post won for a documentary about families coming to Colorado trying to heal children for whom conventional medical treatment failed by using a special kind of marijuana, by reporter John Ingold, photographer Joe Amon and videographer Lindsay Pierce.

The Post won in the “public/current/community affairs – feature/segment” for “Lisa, ” produced by Mahala Gaylord.

And the Post won in the “short form – editor” category for its done by Lindsay Pierce.
