Mesa County authorities said a 71-year-old Grand Junction man died in a motorcycle accident on Highway 141.

The cause of Connie Powell’s death was multiple blunt force trauma, Mesa County chief deputy coroner Victor Yahn said in a statement issued late Sunday.

Powell wasn’t wearing a helmet when the accident happened Saturday, Yahn said. Results of a toxicology test, done as part of the Colorado State Patrol investigation of the death, aren’t expected for up to six weeks.
