The Tuesday funeral procession for a firefighter will wind through downtown Denver on its way from Faith Bible Chapel in Arvada to Mount Olivet Cemetery in Golden.
The procession will begin about 10:30 a.m., and officials warn there will be road closures and delays along the memorial route.
Gov. John Hickenlooper has ordered flags on public buildings statewide be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday in honor of John Whelan, a 15-year veteran who died from injuries he suffered when he fell fighting a Denver fire on June 28.
A memorial service for Whelan will begin at Faith Bible Chapel at 9:30 a.m.
The service is open to friends and uniformed first responders.
Members of the public are encouraged to line the memorial route to show their support.
The procession will go from Kipling Street to 38th Avenue, which becomes Park Avenue West. It will then head down Marion to 16th Avenue before proceeding to the cemetery.

Leave Faith Bible Church at 6250 Wright Street and head Southbound on Ward Road to 44th Avenue
Turn left onto 44th Avenue to Kipling Street
Right turn onto Kipling Street to 38th Avenue
Left turn onto 38th Avenue which turns into Park Avenue West
Park Avenue West to Marion Street
Right turn onto Marion Street to 16th Avenue
Left turn onto 16th Avenue to Park Avenue West
Left turn onto Park Avenue West which turns into 38th Avenue
38th Avenue to Kipling Street
Right turn onto Kipling Street to 44th Ave
Left Turn onto 44th Avenue to Mount Olivet Cemetery
