Westminster police have arrested a man on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular homicide in a fatal hit-and-run early Sunday.
Officers were called about 12:10 a.m. to the area of 87th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard on reports of an injured person in the roadway.
That person,whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead, according to investigator Cheri Spottke. Officials say the victim was from out of state.
“Through the investigation, officers were able to determine it was a hit-and-run,” Spottke said.
Officials said the suspect’s name was not immediately available on Monday afternoon.
