All this weekend Reverb staff is writing live from UMS 2015. r and check back on heyreverb.com to find out where to be and what’s going on.

“You have to be everywhere at the same time,” Nate Hammond of the Epilogues tells us outside of Eslinger on the first night of UMS 2015. (If you follow us on SnapChat you saw the video.)

It’s the problem (or blessing?) for most musicians we’ve run into so far on this first night of the music showcase. A friend is playing here at 10, but a band mate is also playing over there at 10, and a friend is playing down the street at 10.

You have to be everywhere at the same time.

That goes for fans, too. If you have a schedule planned out, there will inevitably be conflicts. That’s the way any music festival goes.

The beauty of it is you’re always on the move, never getting comfortable in one place and sometimes catching three shows in an hour. Yes, it’s stressful, but it’s worth the challenge.

The good news is this: If you’re a UMS first timer, there’s no need to stress, because even the pros get overwhelmed. The key is getting lost in the movement, getting caught up in the moment.

Hopefully, that will be some assistance or comfort for you over the next few days.
