Former Nuggets star Allen Iverson spoke from the heart after he received the Game Changer Award from The Players Awards Thursday. The awards were selected by NBA players and presented by BET.
“This award is one of the most special awards I have ever received because it come from y’all,” he said in his speech.
He thanked Michael Jordan and talked about how he looked up to the Bulls star as a kid. Iverson played with Philadelphia, Denver, Detroit and Memphis.
“Before A.I., players went with the flow and didn’t push the envelope,” Clippers guard Chris Paul said as a presenter. “A.I.? He ripped the envelope apart.”
