Ian Davis of Edmond, Okla., and CSU alumnus Zahkai Brown of Arvada enter Sunday’s final round tied at 14-under-par after three rounds of the 51st HealthOne Colorado Open at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club.
This is the second consecutive year that Davis, the reigning champion, has the lead after three rounds. Brown, the 2013 tournament champion, trailed Davis by two shots entering Saturday’s third round and shot a 5-under 67 to catch Davis for a share of the lead.
Nine players are within five strokes of the co-leaders, including three other past champions: Nathan Lashley of Scottsdale, Ariz., Derek Tolan of Highlands Ranch and Wil Collins of Rapid City, S.D.
Jimmy Gunn of Dornoch, Scotland, is in third place at 12-under after posting seven birdies and a bogey on his way to tying the low round of Saturday’s play with a 6-under 66.
