Authorities on Monday identified a 33-year-old woman and the man suspected of murder in her death.
Amanda M. Velasquez Ybarra was found just after 6:30 a.m. Friday in a home on the 600 block of South 8th Street.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation says Edward Lawrence Aragon, a 33-year-old Rocky Ford man, is being held at the Bent County jail in lieu of $1 million bond on suspicion of first-degree murder.
“Investigators have determined Aragon and Ybarra were in a relationship, but were not married,” the CBI said in a news release. “Ybarra was staying in the home with Aragon at the time of her death.”
