
Arvada City Council has chosen to move forward with more study of a $6.1 million plan that would double the size of the
Out of five options presented, it was the most affordable and would eventually generate a small profit, District 4 Councilman Bob Dyer said in explaining why it was chosen.
“The option to completely rebuild a new one would have been terrific if we were starting from scratch and there were no houses around,” Dyer said of the $14.8 million option. “There’s nothing we can really do besides trying to improve the existing facility.”
Council directed the consultants and city staff to work out details for the new plan to be presented at a later date for public comment and a formal vote.
The selected option will double the size of the clubhouse, lengthen the driving range and relocate the chipping and putting greens.
Now that the , the city is obligated to eventually relocate its banquet facilities from the Arvada Center.
Council was not keen on the idea of moving banquet operations to the clubhouse.
