COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is trying to help a mother find her stolen purse that contained not only her wallet, but also some of her son’s ashes.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1MyFErx ) that after Shannon Paolini’s 2-year-old son Gavin was killed by his father in 2011, she has always carried a rosary and a bracelet with some of his ashes in her purse. That purse was stolen near the Garden of the Gods Wednesday.
The sheriff’s office has set up an anonymous tip line, and officials say the purse and other items can be dropped off at any police or fire station without any questions asked.
In May 2011, Paolini escaped her Fountain home after her boyfriend shot her five times. The man shot Gavin and killed himself.
