The annual High Plains Chautauqua festival of history and theater is Tuesday through Saturday in Greeley. Meet and engage with personalities from the past who will be sharing the history of the American West and the Rocky Mountain region. Boom Days.
The 65th annual Boom Days Festival will be held Aug. 7-9. Celebrate the rich mining and Old West history of Leadville with mining competitions, a parade, Western re-enactments, pack burro races, a craft and food fair, and an auto show. This free, family-friendly festival will also include pancake breakfasts, free activities for kids and live music.
Winter Park Uncorked.
Winter Park Music Festival is hosting a new wine event, Winter Park Uncorked, on Aug. 22. The festival will include wine tasting, food pairings and live music from Greg Holden in Hideaway Park. General admission tickets, $35; VIP passes, $55. or 970-726-4221
Mountain films in Aspen.
The MountainSummit: Mountainfilm in Aspen will be held Aug. 27-30. The festival will feature documentaries about environmental, cultural, climbing, political and social justice issues.
