The Broncos announced Monday that they placed Kyle Williams on the injured reserve and signed 26-year-old receiver Corbin Louks.
Williams ruptured his Achilles during the second day of training camp, on a non-contact punt-returning drill. Moving him to IR created space to sign Louks, a 6-foot, 200-pound receiver who spent two weeks on Kansas City’s practice squad last season and was previously on the Seahawks’ practice squad, in 2012.
Louks, a former quarterback, completed nine of 15 passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns while adding 60 carries for 380 yards at Utah. He transferred to Nevada in 2009, switching to safety before switching again to receiver, in 2011.
The Broncos had , a 6-foot-3, 210-pound receiver out of Kansas, as a potential option to fill the void left by Williams, but they elected to not sign him. King had signed with the Dolphins in May and competed in mini camp and organized team activities before being waived on Monday.
