Getting your player ready...

Funny thing happened to me the other day on the way to the supermarket. I did not get shot by a policeman.

Thinkstock

When the cop asked for my driver’s license, I gave it to him. When he asked for my registration certificate, I gave it to him. I did not give him any sass or trash talk or smart mouth. I did not start my car and try to drive away.

The very professional policeman informed me the reason he stopped me was that my left tail light was out. I thanked him and said I’d fix it the next day.

So I went home and watched the evening news, alive and unscathed. The policeman did the same, I assume, alive and with his family.
