The Republican National Committee recently put three key staffers on the ground in Colorado, part of its early push to build support ahead of the 2016 elections.
The party named Windsor-native Ian Lindemann as the state director. He previously worked for the Colorado Republican Party and served as U.S. Rep. Mike Coffman’s deputy campaign manager in 2012.
Jefferson Thomas, who has worked on campaigns in Ohio and Texas, will serve as the deputy director and Kristian Hemphill, a Durango native and former regional field director for the Colorado GOP, will serve as data director.
RNC officials said they are building an organization in states earlier than the last cycle. The team will train volunteers, develop voter targets and register voters.
“Ian has worked directly for the Colorado Republican Party and our candidates for the past three election cycles,” said CRP Chairman Steve House. “He has proven to be a uniquely skilled leader who knows the state, knows the voters and knows what it takes to win.
