Interview with Robert Eurich and Kimberly Colaiannia, owners

Q: How did you get involved in this business?

A: With an art degree and an immense love of flowers, Ramah’s started as a hobby in my home. We soon realized that this was my passion and we were outgrowing the basement, so the search was on for a retail space. Kim came on board and Ramah’s was born.

Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?

A: Artificial flowers that don’t look artificial! We pride ourselves on finding the most realistic and botanically correct flowers available in their natural color. Seasons also change at Ramah’s. We will soon be gearing up for fall, and no one does Christmas like Ramah’s. We have Denver’s largest collection of quality silk floral and home decor. And some of the area’s top designers to help clients with their decorating needs.

Q: What do you like best about your line of work?

A: It allows us to use our art backgrounds in a creative media that is affordable for most budgets, and the positive reinforcement working with customers.

Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?

A: Guessing a year in advance on our buying trips what our customers are going to like. What the new “in” color will be. And all the new trends.

Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:

A: That the flowers aren’t real. It’s not unusual for someone to carry one of our “fresh cuts” with acrylic water up to the counter and not realize that they are not fresh flowers. We patterned our store after the fresh flower markets in Europe, only with a twist — our flowers won’t die.
