The mercury is rising in Denver, and in Denver’s Uptown neighborhood has launched a series of small-plate specials to make the dog days of August a bit more pleasant.
Until the weather turns, the restaurant will offer a “Patio Plates” menu from Tuesday-Friday, from 5 p.m.-6 p.m. on the patio. Every dish will be $8 or under.
The menu will be created anew each day by chef and co-owner Paul C. Reilly and his crew. Among the potential dishes: roasted artichokes with rosemary-mushroom aioli, a calzone with lamb sausage and broccoli rabe, and rigatoni with turnips, bacon and Parmesan cheese.
The restaurant has a deft hand with produce, so don’t be surprised if some fruit and veggie specials pop up on the menu, especially with peach and sweet corn season upon us.
And for the thirsty, red and white wine, a rotating Patio Plates cocktail and tap beer will be sold during the hour for $6 or less.
Beast and Bottle sits at 719 E. 17th Avenue in Denver.
