Jefferson County authorities have identified a 22-year-old Denver man who died Saturday morning in a single-vehicle in Conifer.

Nicholas Wygant was killed when he failed to negotiate a curve on Pleasant Park Road near Silver Fox Lane, authorities say.

Wygant, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from his white Honda motorcycle about 10 a.m. after careening around a left curb and going off the right side of the road, said Trooper Tim Sutherland of the Colorado State Patrol.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sutherland said “excessive speed” was the only factor in the crash.

The State Patrol had earlier identified the motorcycle’s driver as a 20-year-old man.
