Getting your player ready...

The sad truth: This park needs a drink.

A garden. A cocktail cafe. Something.

The city isn’t in the alcohol business, but there are plenty of local entrepreneurs who are. They’d make great partners, and put up the capital for a permanent community watering hole, casually elegant at lunch, though much looser after dark.

Current city regulations don’t favor private business on public land or alcohol consumption. Those would have to be adjusted, and could be Denver-wide, allowing other underused spaces to lure folks.

The way we gather has changed. We still assemble politically, but more often over the Internet than in parks. And we continue to evolve as a citizenry and still need to define who we are. Beer actually does fit into that picture. It would sure make the karaoke more fun.
