COLORADO SPRINGS — Samuel Howard of Colorado Springs Christian has committed to play basketball at Colorado Christian University, according to the Colorado Chaos club team.
The 6-foot-8 Howard is CCU’s first recruit for the next class.
Howard averaged 19 points while shooting 71 percent from the field. He added 11.3 rebounds and 3.6 blocks as a junior in leading his team to a 26-1 record and the Class 3A state championship.
First team all-state in 3A by The Denver Post, he also was the Tri-Peaks League and Colorado Springs Gazette player of the year
To date, Howard has 1,185 points and 799 rebounds, and his team is 69-8 the past three seasons.
