GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) — An Alabama family drove to Colorado to be reunited with their 10-year-old dog named Boozer after it went missing 9 years ago while they were moving.
A tearful reunion happened Saturday at the Foothills Animal Shelter in Golden. KUSA-TV reports (http://goo.gl/l1uZsA ) that a man who had owned Boozer, a boxer, recently moved to Denver and gave the dog to the shelter on Aug. 2 because he was unable to take care of him.
The shelter scanned Boozer’s microchip and discovered that he was registered to Lloyd Goldston of Alabama. Goldston owned Boozer when he was living in Tennessee. He says Boozer went missing when his family was moving to Alabama.
Goldston kept an album of Boozer and says the dog was always in his family’s hearts.
