Eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 have reopened after a multi-vehicle accident forced their closing Sunday near Georgetown, slowing traffic for more than an hour.

The accident happened at about 11:15 a.m., and a section of east bound road was closed until 12:31 p.m., said Colorado State Trooper Josh Lewis. No one was injured in the accident, which involved a tractor trailer truck and several other vehicles.

During the closure, traffic was directed around the accident on the road shoulder, Lewis said.

“They had traffic going through, but it is I-70, if you close even one lane it is going to slow down everybody,” Lewis said.
