Getting your player ready...

Blue-tinted, snowy expanses. Sparkling rivers and crystalline skies. And a bevy of glowering, if comfortingly familiar, faces.

director Quentin Tarantino’s eighth movie and his latest love letter to 1970s Westerns, shows off plenty of the gorgeous Colorado scenery

The twist: it’s set in Wyoming.

The fields and mountains around Telluride provided the physical backdrop for the film, which stars Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Channing Tatum and others.

The state Economic Development Commission last year approved a $5 million package to lure Tarantino and his crew to southwestern Colorado, allowing the state to beat out rival locales Utah and Wyoming for filming.

Stylized as “The H8ful Eight,” the movie is slated to open in theaters on Jan. 8, 2016. That’s where it will certainly fare best, given that it’s shot in “glorious” (as the trailer calls it) 70mm ultra-Panavision.
