Re: “Stonewalling on public records,” Aug. 12 editorial.
Itap interesting that Adams County School District 50 took five months to produce requested information. Printing a copy of each employee’s pay stub or each employee’s W-2 would have provided the information from records required by the IRS. This data has to be in the districtap payroll system.
It would take less than an hour and cost about $10 to print 1,000 pages on my home printer. It would be appropriate to redact Social Security numbers.
It would also be easy to export the data from any payroll system to a spreadsheet and then remove Social Security numbers or any other inappropriate information.
Are you defending district officials by calling it “stonewalling”? I would call it ignoring the law. Who ever fines or imprisons a government official for intentionally violating a law?
