Sugarwish
No, you can’t go to any store and buy this blue box of candy. Somebody has to go online and buy it for you. But you get to experience the fun part of a Sugarwish — you pick and choose the candy just like a candy store.
The offer a unique mix — Juju bees, rock candy crystals, rainbow sour belts, Paypal, a custom-built e-commerce engine. And it’s free! Well, only if you’re so lucky to be gifted a Sugarwish. This gift-card-meets-personal-gift company puts the financial burden on the gifter. The giftee just cashes in, picks from 80 different candies and gets mailed a nicely wrapped box in a shade of Tiffany blue. And apparently, 15 percent of giftees turn around and send one to someone else. This year, Sugarwish stepped up its sweet shop and began targeting companies and corporate gifters. Companies get their own portal and can customize gifts “in seconds,” said Elisabeth Vezzani, Sugarwish’s CEO and co-founder. Sales quadrupled within one month.
