WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) — Authorities say the body of a 32-year-old missing West Valley City woman has been discovered along a mountain highway in Colorado.
West Valley City police say in a news release they are now looking for a man Maria Maricela Astorga-Chavez was seen leaving her house with on Aug. 6. Police consider the man a suspect in the homicide.
Astorga-Chavez’ body was found Aug. 16 by a Colorado state transportation worker along Interstate 70 in Summit County. West Valley City worked with Colorado police to determine it was Astorga-Chavez.
Though police say the cause of death is pending toxicology reports, they are investigating the case as a homicide.
Investigators say they have identified the West Valley City location where the homicide occurred and found the white SUV driven by the suspect.
