Emergency crews are responding Saturday to the possible drowning of a teenager at Green Mountain Reservoir.
Lake Dillon Fire officials say that at 2 p.m., a high-school-aged male reportedly chased a ball into the water near the Willow Springs campground, at the northern end of the reservoir. After the teen struggled and went under water, people nearby tried to help but were unable to find him, officials said.
Emergency crews are now treating the situation as a likely drowning and are conducting efforts to recover his body.
Lake Dillon firefighters, Summit County Sheriff officers, Summit County Water Rescue Team, Summit County Ambulance, Grand County Sheriff’s officer and Grand County EMS are on scene.
