A man is in custody early Wednesday after police in Arvada say they found materials used for making methamphetamine and explosives in a home.

Jill McGranahan, a spokeswoman for Arvada police, said police were called out to a home in the 8100 block of Chase Drive overnight to assist Denver police with an ongoing investigation.

After finding materials used for making meth and explosives, police called in a bomb squad and an environmental cleanup team, McGranahan said.

A Jefferson County Sheriff’s office dispatcher confirmed a bomb squad was sent to the scene.

The man was taken into custody without incident, she said. His name was not immediately released.
