Horticulturist Aaron Sedivy explains how they cut a window in “Stinky” the corpse flower at the Denver Botanic Gardens to remove pollen to send to Chicago to pollinate “Spike,” the Chicago Botanic Garden’s corpse flower set to bloom this week. Each plant contains 700-800 female flowers so at least a few should successfully pollinate and produce fruit in the future.
