Denver Water is repairing a 12-inch water main break at 6701 E. Colfax Ave. Westbound Colfax Avenue is closed between Oneida Street and Niagara Street for the work and the closure is expected to last into Tuesday night.
All businesses, restaurants and hotels along both sides of Colfax Avenue between Pontiac Street and Niagara Street will be out of water during the repairs, Denver Water said.
Denver Water has not determined what caused the break, but said the age of the pipe, which was installed in 1890 is a likely factor.
