FORT COLLINS — During pre-season practices, new CSU coach Mike Bobo repeatedly has emphasized he hopes to use a deep pool of receivers. But the Rams’ depth at wideout apparently took a hit Wednesday when redshirt junior Robert Ruiz was carted off after practice and appeared to be in pain.

Bobo, who previously has been open about at least disclosing who has been banged up and held out of practice work, wouldn’t talk about Ruiz, saying he had decided to stop commenting about injuries.
“I don’t know why I’m talking about it, it’s not the NFL and I shouldn’t have to say a word, anyway,” he said.
The first-year head coach added he wasn’t angry with the media, but that he had just decided he had been saying too much.
Going into fall camp, Ruiz was listed as the backup to sophomore Deionte Gaines at one of the three wide receiver spots. He played in six games in 2013 and four in 2014, both on special teams and at receiver, and had one catch for one yard.
