Getting your player ready...
Aqib Talib’s power and speed was never in question. But on Saturday, in the Broncos’ preseason victory over the 49ers, the veteran cornerback that seems more mind-boggling with every replay.
He body slammed Reggie Bush. He hoisted a 200-pound running back a foot in the air and threw him out of bounds.
On a third down early in the first, Bush saved a Colin Kaepernick fumble and sprinted toward the right sideline. As Talib closed in, Bush thought for a moment that he could hurdle the Broncos’ 6-foot-1 cornerback. But Talib caught him in midair, lifted him up and threw him down.
The hit was not flagged, but it did spark a skirmish with the 49ers players who thought it should have been.
