Only a cynic would say that prosecutor George Brauchler rejected a plea deal in the Aurora movie theater shooting — which would have put James Holmes behind bars for life without the possibility of parole — in order to keep himself on television and in the papers for months on end with an eye to future political possibilities.
Consider me a cynic.
