A woman was found dead in the middle of a street in Aurora early Wednesday morning and authorities are now calling it a suspicious death.
The name and age of the victim has not been released.
The woman’s body was discovered at 12:49 a.m. on the 700 block of North Havana Street, said Officer Crystal McCoy, Aurora police spokeswoman.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
“The death appears suspicious in nature,” McCoy said in a news release.
The Arapahoe County coroner’s office will identify the woman, she said.
The Major Crime/Homicide Unit and crime scene investigators were called out to the scene and took over the investigation.
Aurora police said the case was initially reported as traffic accident. Although that possibility hasn’t been eliminated, detectives are considering other possible causes of death.
