A hit-and-run driver was arrested early Tuesday after he crashed into the back of a State Patrol squad car on Interstate 25 then fled on foot.
Trooper Clinton Stanton, 46, received moderate injuries in the 5 a.m. crash, according to Nate Reid, CSP spokesman. Stanton was taken to North Suburban Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
Jose Ramirez, 21, has been arrested for investigation of hit and run, according to Doug Schepman, Denver police spokesman.
The trooper, who has 12 years of experience, had stopped a motorist who lost part of his vehicle’s load.
Stanton was inside his patrol car when a vehicle driven by Ramirez smashed into the back.
Ramirez was arrested by Adams County officials.
