The Rockies will send five minor-league players — including top catching prospect Tom Murphy — to Scottsdale to play in the Arizona Fall League, after rosters were released Tuesday.

Murphy will play for the Salt River Rafters when the AFL starts on Oct. 13.

Murphy is hitting .283 with Triple-A Albuquerque in 27 games since he was promoted from Double-A New Britain earlier this year.

Rockies spots on the Rafters roster:

RHP Matt Carasiti … A Modesto

LHP Carlos Estevez … AA New Britain

LHP Sam Moll … A Modesto

C Tom Murphy … AAA Albququerque

INF Jordan Patterson … A Modesto

Colorado also has an open spot for an outfield and another pitcher, which likely will be filled later.
