An ultralight aircraft pilot was injured Tuesday in an incident near Byers, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
The pilot, who suffered minor injuries, was flying over an area near East 64th Avenue and Calhoun Byers Road above hunters when an incident occurred, the sheriff’s office said.
The pilot was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released.
Hunters, shooting legally on private land, were in the immediate area.
An ongoing investigation will try to determine whether or not the aircraft or the pilot was shot.
“It has not been determined how the pilot was injured,” the sheriff’s office said in a media release.
Names of the people involved in the incident were not released.
