The woman whose unborn baby was cut from her womb in a Longmont attack earlier this year says she did an interview with Dr. Phil.

Michelle Wilkins, in a statement released Wednesday night, called the experience positive and said she hopes her story will benefit others.

“I appreciate Dr. Phil’s insight and genuine efforts to treat me with dignity and respect, along with the offer to further help in my recovery,” she said. “I am still on a difficult journey and am taking it one day at a time.”

Wilkins has released statements since the attack but has never spoken publicly with the media until now. It was not immediately clear when the interview would air.

Dynel Lane, the woman accused in the March 18 attack, in May in the case. A two-week trial has been scheduled for early 2016.

Authorities say Wilkins’ unborn child — whom she planned to name Aurora — was removed by the 35-year-old Lane in a .

Wilkins, who was seriously injured, survived, but her unborn child did not.

Lane , including first-degree unlawful termination of pregnancy, attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault. She is being held at the Boulder County Jail in lieu of $2 million bail.
