One person was wounded Friday afternoon in Eagle County during an armed robbery, officials say.
County authorities have an unidentified woman in custody in connection to the incident and they’re looking for second suspect, a man, identified as Jesus Manuel Miranda Jr., according to the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office.
The pair are suspected of a 12:30 p.m. heist at the Tienda Montes in Gypsum.
“The incident resulted in an altercation, resulting in one victim sustaining a gun shot wound,” Eagle County officials said on their official Facebook page.
Miranda is described as a Hispanic man in his mid-20s with full sleeve tattoos on both arms. He was waring a blue shirt and black pants at the time of the incident, the sheriff’s office said.
“Do not approach this (person),” a sheriff’s office post said.
Authorities say “multiple law enforcement agencies” are searching for the suspects.
“Updates will be posted as they come available,” the post said.
Schools in Gypsum were placed on lock-out as a precaution, the county sheriff’s office said. Students were escorted to their parents’ cars when classes let out.
Authorities did not immediately release further information.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call either the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office at 970-328-8500 or Eagle County Crime Stoppers at 970-328-7007.
