Re: “Colorado Springs teachers attend gun classes,” Aug. 30 news story.
I’m very disturbed about the article in last Sunday’s Post regarding teachers taking gun classes. I have taught and worked with many children/adolescents who had a wide range of behavior issues. Some were adjudicated felons, some gang members. If I were told that “packing heat” was part of the job description, I would leave that employment as fast as possible. I find it much more effective and pleasant to have an atmosphere of mutual respect and appreciation than one of fear.
