Denver police are investigating a collision between a car and a motorcycle in which a motorcyclist was killed and a passenger was seriously injured late Sunday night , police said.

The collision between happened at the intersection of South Sheridan Boulevard and West Kentucky Avenue at around 11:30 p.m., said Sonny Jackson, Denver police spokesman.

The car and motorcycle were both turning at the same corner when the motorcycle rammed into the back of the car, Jackson said.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one in the other vehicle were injured in the crash, he said.

The motorcycle passenger was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

The names, genders and ages of the victims have not been released.

Police closed Sheridan between Mississippi Avenue and Ohio Street for several hours during the investigation.
