DENVER — The Denver Public Library is starting off Tuesday morning with a free “sunrise concert.”

The performance will be on the front steps of the library at West 14th Avenue Parkway and Broadway Street at 9 a.m.

“We’d like to give all of our customers, and even those just passing by, a chance to start their morning with some upbeat music and a pleasant way to start their day,” said City Librarian Michelle Jeske. “Since this is the first day back at work after the long weekend, we’re hoping it will be appreciated even more.”

“The Denver Central Library is a busy place in the morning,” said Jeske. “There is always a group of folks waiting for the doors to open and we want to help engage them in a fun and active way.”

The concert will feature local band Piper Club. Depending on attendance, the library may host more concerts next year.
