Sunday: The Boulder Philharmonic leads the pack of local orchestras kicking off their season this month. Sunday’s concert has a light side, opening with Ravel’s “Mother Goose Suite” and a romantic side, closing with Rachmaninoff’s phenomenally popular Piano Concerto No. 2. Pianist Gabriela Montero is the evening’s special guest, with the Phil’s own concertmaster Chas Wetherbee featured on Korine Fujiwara’s “The Storyteller.” Music director Michael Butterman will be on the podium. This concert also begins Colorado Public Radio’s ambitious 2015-16 season of live broadcasts of regional concerts.
