A hunter was charged with second-degree assault and felony menacing for two weeks ago.

Frank Urban, 49, was charged after allegedly firing shotgun pellets at James Johnson, 50, while hunting, according to a 17th Judicial District Attorney news release.

Johnson was flying his aircraft Sept. 1 over his cornfield near East 64th Avenue and Calhoun Byers Road. He suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

At the time of the shooting, Urban was hunting on private land.

Urban, of Byers, is due in Adams County Court for advisement of charges at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

He is being held on $3,000 bond, the release said.
